Shinigami/Vaizard Introduction & Abilities
So, you wish to be a Shinigami huh? Well just in case you're completely ignorant about the Manga and Anime that Shinigami originate from, I'll let you Google them in your own free time. My job, is to give you as much info as I can on how Shinigami go about their daily business in the RP of this site.
Now the first thing you should do is post in the Rukongai as this is where your Character will either be born or if they lived in the Human World before dying, they will be sent here. Depending on where you choose to position your Character in the Rukongai, will depend on what kind of life they had, as the lower numbered districts such as Districts 1-5 are rich and posh and have a lot of influence. Also it is in these districts that the Clans come from such as the famous Kuchiki Clan. However, if you choose a high numbered District such as 73 they will have a hard life fending for themselves in what is more or less a slum.
Once you reach 5,000 you are then able to enroll in the Shinigami Academy where you are taught in the four Shinigami arts:
Hakuda
Zanjutsu
Hoho
Kido
A full list of the techniques are available though you may only learn a total of four techniques per week(You may split them between any of the arts as you would like).
You will remain in the Academy until 15,000 where you graduate and are able to pick a Squad in the Thirteen Court Guard Squads of your liking.
At 20,000 is where your first release "Shikai" is available for you to learn. Once you have picked your Squad you join them and do basic duties until you are able to be promoted. You can become the Vice Captain of your Squad, though this decision is down to the Captain of your Squad if the position is available, at 35,000. This will give you a lot more responsibilities within your Squad and if your prove yourself things can become even better.
Once you reach 60,000 you are more or less at the top of your game and your second release "Bankai" is available. At 75,000 , if the position is available the Captain Commander can appoint you the Captain of your Squad. Of course you still have a lot to learn and will spend the remainder of your career honing your skills and improving all the time.
If the life of a Shinigami become too tedious for you, at 30,000 you can take the test to become a Vaizard, offering a lot more abilities and a dangerous life. Be wary though, the test is difficult to pass and if you fail the consequences are severe.

- The Vaizard (仮面の軍勢 (ヴァイザード), kamen no gunzei (vaizādo); Japanese for "Masked Army"; Viz: Vaizard) is a group of Shinigami that have acquired Hollow powers.
- Spoiler:
How to become a Vaizard:- Spoiler:
Vaizard are a bit different from arrancar. Vaizard have an amazing benefit of having access to one of the largest boosts in the game, as well as an increase in abilities, introduction to cero etc. Shinigami will have two chances to pass the Vaizard test as well. The first chance will be based purely off your reiatsu chances. The fail safe will be based off of your standard chance cut in half. Each failed attempt you will lose 10,000 Reiatsu as well. So you can either just take the fail and become a hollow or try for the second attempt and see if you pass or lose an additional 10,000. You will still lose 10,000 Reiatsu if you fail the first attempt and pass the second.
30,000-40,000= 15% Can Apply for Regen 5% chance
41,000-50,000= 25%
51,000-60,000= 30%
61,000-70,000= 40%, Can Apply for Regen 10% chance
71,000-80,000= 45%
81,000-90,000= 50%
91,000-100,000= 55%
101,000+= 60%, Can apply for Regen, 15% chance
Can only Apply for Regen if you pass the test to become a vaizard.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Shinigami will have two chances to perform the vaizard test. If you fail the first time your second attempt will only be at half the chance of the original attempt(rounded up for decimals). You lose 10,000 every time you run the test, so a possible loss of 20,000 reiatsu is possible if you fail both attempts.
- Spoiler:
All Vaizards start out as shinigami, this means that anything Shinigami can learn so can they. Hakuda, Zanjutsu, Hoho, Kido Arts, Shikai, Bankai, etc. They are also allowed a few more skills will be incorporated. Any questions, look at the spoiler above for shinigami.
- Spoiler:
Cero: Can learn at the price of 1,500 WC. Requires Energy Proficiency 2.
Bala: Can learn at the price of 1,000 WC. Requires Energy Proficiency 2.
- Spoiler:
Stacking: The Vaizard mask can stack on top of both Shikai and Bankai, however for Bankai the mask duration is cut in half to compensate for the increased use of energy.
Time Lapse: Between each level of mask mastery and individual has to wait one IRL (In Real Life) week or seven days in addition to the Reiatsu requirements to get the next level of mask.
Beginner Hollow Mask:- Spoiler:

- Spoiler:
- Spoiler:
- High Speed Regeneration: The ability of Arrancar or Vaizards to regenerate injuries at a rapid rate of speed. This ability is voluntary, as if they do not wish to heal the wounds the wounds themselves will not heal. For roleplaying purposes clear guidelines about how fast and what exactly can be healed must be outlined. This will outline all one should need to know about High Speed Regeneration.
- Spoiler:
- On this forum, what can be healed will be limited. Damage to internal organs is limited with high speed regeneration. Most organs are fine to be healed with the exception of the brain. If your head gets taken off or chopped up, you aren't coming back from that one. Blood does not return, as such blood loss will affect those with the skill same as any other. Skin, appendages, broken bones, muscles even major wounds are all injuries however that can be healed via it’s use.
- Spoiler:
- Different injuries will take a different amount of time to heal based upon severity. While your body is healing the wounds you have will still be present though not as severe as they would normally be. Wounds that would normally cause additional exhaustion will not if you choose to use regeneration to heal them. You will instead exhaust one point for using regeneration. You will still take the additional exhaustion penalty based off of your wound but with one more post added as a gap between exhausting stamina points.
Blood loss will still apply as normal if you have sustain the prerequisite amount of stamina exhaustion as listed in the Regulations of Combat & Death Post.
E.G: If you have a limb removed, you will exhaust one point for using regeneration. After that, instead of exhausting two points every post, you will exhaust two points every other post instead. Once the wound is healed your stamina exhaustion will return to normal.
Major wounds/Gashes/Broken Bones= 2 Posts.
Organ Damage= 3 Posts
Severed Appendages= 4 Posts.
- Spoiler:
- Whenever you use High Speed Regeneration to heal a wound in combat it will exhaust a point of your stamina making you lose a post. This is the result of using energy that would normally be dedicated to fighting to repair your body so you can continue doing so.
Imperfect Arrancar: Any Shinigami or Hollow that is not strong enough to pass the transformation to a Vaizard or Arrancar become a imperfect Arrancar. This is a hollow with a low level of Shinigami powers that only last a short duration of time.
- Spoiler:
- Spoiler:
Sometimes lady luck just isn't on your side. You pushed her and she responded with a swift kick in the nuts, or teeth for our females. In response you have degraded into transforming into a Hollow; Before the universe can lock you at this stage, now we shall offer you something more.
- Spoiler:
What are you?
You are a Hollow now that you have failed the Vaizard Test 2 times, with the potential to transform into an Imperfect Arrancar. After becoming a hollow, one must type out a grand total of about 7,000 words about their adventures as a Hollow. This can be anything, training, wandering, etc it just has to amount to that word count eventually over time. Yes this does count towards increasing your Reiatsu, so it's not anything you wouldn't do previously anyway.
What does Transforming into a failed Arrancar give me?
For the sake of the RP you can think and react like a person with reasoning instead of being a feral hollow. It will also give you back a release, that amounts to +35 or x1.07 to all stats during the release; You will also receive 6 technique slots for your abilities. However you will only be able to maintain it for a certain amount of posts and the abilities won't be nearly as much as a pure Arrancar can achieve. You will also never have a chance at Segunda res, or high speed regeneration. To actually attain the release you must go about a 5,000 WC journey realizing this fragment of your old power and actually achieving an Imperfect Resurreccion.
- Spoiler:
- Bala - 15,000 Reiatsu
Meaning: Essentially a miniature version of a cero. The user charges up a, typically crimson, smaller version of a cero and fires it from their hand or mouth. While the blast is not as strong as a cero it has been noted for being much faster.

Cero – 15,000 Reiatsu
Description: The practitioner fires a powerful blast of concentrated spiritual energy at the target from their mouthes.
Requires a 1 in Energy Proficiency & 500 WC.
Pesquisa -
Pesquisa functions similarly to sonar, through a radiating pulse sent outwards from the user which reacts to sources of Reiatsu within an immediate proximity, allowing them to determine the location of any sensed individuals and granting them an indication of how powerful they actually are.
Requires a 2 in Energy Proficiency & 500 WC.
Sonido (瞬歩, Sound Ceremony) is the Hollow equal to Shunpo. However, there are variations even within Sonido which only master practitioners can use.
- Must have 150 speed
- 1,000 WC to learn
- Can be reduced by 20% if taught by another RPer IC
- Spoiler:
- -Can only maintain for 10 posts
-followed by a 5 post cool down.
- Grants +35 or x1.07 to all stats; Note that this numbers will not be doubled by your class and specialty skill.
- Release unlocks 6 ability slots.
- Requires 5,000 WC to learn.
