While watching his friend take down thug after thug he noticed that these small fries were far to unorganized. Then a new one appeared he seemed more experienced then the others. Though his friend was more then a match for him the best thing he could do would be to keep as many thugs off of him. Soon after one of them was heading for a surprise attack he quickly took the thug down. From what he gathered from the more experienced thug they were getting some payback for all the justice they had been serving. Not too surprising though giving that they were being a huge pain to the local thugs operations. What was surprising is how long it took for them to finally attack them.

Another thing he noticed was it seemed that more thugs were taking the place of the ones they took down. It also seemed that more they took down that more experienced thugs took there place. It seemed they were in fact using the weak ones as cannon fodder so to speak. Making them tired so it would be easier for them to be taken down by there heavy hitters which he had to admit was clever for just a bunch of thugs. It could also mean that someone could be pulling the strings given that this attack was thought out.

So he started to focus more on their stronger thugs if they could take them down then only the weak one would be left. He did think of teaming up on the what seemed to be the boss one but he was sure his friend could handle him and if he needed help he would say so. That's when he heard the boss guy say something he was going to regret he brought up his friends family and insulted him. That was a good way to earn a good beating in itself but the thug wasn't going to be that lucky. Still he continued his focus on the small fries while watching his friends back to make sure none of them got any funny ideas.

Re: A new start

Post by Tenjinsai Bushinji on Sat Sep 24, 2016 1:34 am

While Tenjinsai was in no way really paying attention to anything other then the one man directly in his sight, his body was poised to react to anything that came near him. There was a tension around his body, nerves on end, muscles clenching and releasing almost in spasms. He was what one could describe as being, in the zone. He could however say the same for the opponent that stood in front of him as well. They were no small and proved themselves to be an equal to him with a blade. It was something that Tenjinsai had yet to encounter in his travels across the rukongai. There had been no one they had come across that was their match.

Perhaps they just had not raised enough hell until this moment to draw out the true threats. Were they simply seen as just a nuisance wherever they went and just waited out until they moved along? No, that couldn't be the case, the circumstances would have to be astronomical for all of that to line up properly. But still, wilder things had certainly happened. One way or another, the answer would fall into place as time went on. For now there were other concerns to address. Raising his blade once more, Tenjinsai charged in sliding out towards his target and making a low sweep with his blade.

His opponent, graceful as they were, quickly and nimbly jumped over the attack as to avoid getting their shins chopped off. Following up, Tenjinsai spun around on his heels letting his arms and body raise for another wide strike that would slash across the bandits torso. Their blades met one another again in a loud clash, several sparks flying from the crash of metal. Several more brief exchanges would occur before the two would back off once more. They stared deeply at each other before something absolutely startling had occured. From the distance a beam of light had roared out and violently ripped through the man Tenjinsai had been fighting.

It all happened far too quickly for him to have even really registered it until after it had happened. Confusion spread amongst the bandits that were still left alive. Fear could be seen easily in their faces as some of them saw fit to panic and flee into the forests that were around them. From the same direction that the offending beam came from a reiatsu began to pour out that was strong, very strong, and also very familiar. From beyond the trees a single shinigami emerged, and then several more followed from behind them. The one in the lead of the group was one that Tenjinsai easily recognized.

The problem however was not who it was, it was more geared towards why they were there. At this point as well the remaining bandits had saw fit to flee into the woods, trying to seek safety from the new threat that had just arrived. The shinigami in the lead fanned out his right arm and gave orders to some of the men that were behind him. "Fan out and scout for those that have escaped. Interrogate them first and then execute them afterwards unless they have particularly valuable information." Tenjinsai moved forward towards the shinigami as several of his subordinates flew off into the woods to track down the remaining bandits that had fled.

Reaching his arm out as the two approached, they reached and grabbed hold of each others forearms and pulled into one another. A light thud was heard as their chests collided and once more when they patted one another on the back in a psuedo-hug. "Brother, it has been too long since I have last seen you. Though more importantly, what brings you to this neck of the woods? I thought patrols had been suspended for the time being as well." Tenjinsai spoke after the two began to pull apart from one another. "Astute as ever Tenjinsai, and it is good to see you as well."

He smiled lightly before stepping back to take in the full image of his younger brother. The two had not met with one another in a great deal of time, several years in fact. "You have grown into a fine young man, and a fairly decent fighter from what I can see." Tenjinsai shrugged off the compliment considering who it was coming from. "Compared to your skills brother, my talents are lamentable. I am far from being a truly talented warrior like yourself or father." Sighing lightly, Tenjinsai crossed his arms and then looked back into the forestry that his brother and his men had emerged from.

"So, you still haven't said what you were doing so far from the Seireitei." The feeling in the air changed as that question hung in the silence. Nothing was said for several moments, not even a single move was made. Everyone simply stood, no speaking, no moving, not even a single animal could be heard rustling in the woods. Slowly though, Tsunkai turned around to face his brother and his companion, a look on his face more serious then anything Tenjinsai had even see in the past. "So, I take it that it must be a rather big deal then." His brother nodded and sighed lightly while doing so, trying put together the words in his head to explain properly what was occurring.

"Obviously, you two are aware of the state of the Soul Society, generally at least. It is for the most part in chaos. There is no real hierarchy and there are many, many people trying to seize power. Of course the shinigami are doing their best to keep things under control but, there is only so much that can be done." Tsunkai crossed his arms and leaned back onto a tree while looking up at the sky before continuing his explanation. "There has been a fairly large uprising in the western rukongai. We were on our way to Hanging Dog as what will essentially be step one."

Turning his gaze back to the now corpse of the bandit leader, he stared at him questionably for a moment before looking towards Tenjinsai. "That gentleman there was one of the small fry thats joined up in the rebellion. There are many more people like him, any many that are much stronger. There is someone behind the scenes here pulling strings, that is why I am here."

Re: A new start

Post by Tenjinsai Bushinji on Mon May 22, 2017 12:40 am

Tenjinsai listened closely to the story that was told by his brother. It was an interesting story as to the reason why he and his unit were in the area. More then that though, it was somewhat frightening to a degree to hear the truth. The man that he had been fighting, who he considered an equal to himself, was a weakling. Whatever this rebellion was that he had just heard of, the man he had just battled was an underling, a small group leader that amounted to nothing in the overall structure of their group it appeared. Tenjinsai had always considered himself strong, and with Mikoto at his side they were unstoppable. To find that it was apparently mostly luck at this point that they had never encountered someone stronger then themselves was, disheartening.

Not enough so though to deter them from their task. It served to only drive them to become stronger for the trials ahead, such was his goal in life as it was. Tenjinsai had always desired to become stronger then his father, to show him how great of a man he could be, and perhaps even best him in combat. This was of course a task that was larger then the greatest of mountains to be sure, but something he knew was capable of him. The same blood that flowed through his fathers veins also flowed through his, he knew he was capable of becoming strong, perhaps stronger then anyone ever before. He could not look at his entire mission at one time though, he had to take it one step at a time as to not be overwhelmed by this titanic quest. It became clear that the first thing that he should do would be to head to Hanging Dog, were his brother intended to go.

There he would find either fortune or death as it sounded. But if he was looking for a way to challenge himself with a greater challenge then that was where they should be headed. Sighing lightly, Tenjinsai straightened out his garbs and brushed the light dirt off of them that had gathered during the fight. He extended out his arm and placed it on his brothers shoulder before speaking to him. "Brother, I would ask you consider both myself and Mikoto coming with you and your men. We were going to travel to Hanging Dog one way or another. If you are going to be going though, it would be benefi..." "Absolutely not." Tsunkai cut him off as quickly as a hot knife through butter. "Neither of you are shinigami, nor prepared for a conflict of this magnitude. I know what the two of you have been doing in the rukongai, I am an advocate for it to be honest. People need someone to stand up for them, but this battle, it is not yours."

His hand was moved from his brothers shoulder as Tsunkai turned and walked away slowly, starting to pace methodically while thinking it appeared. Tenjinsai moved forward a few steps, wanting to appeal to his brother. They were no weaklings regardless of what the situation called for. "Tsunkai, we are no weaker then some shinigami are that come out of the academy. You should know that we can handle ourselves, especially me. The same blood in your veins flows through mine, though father would never openly acknowledge it." He paused, clenching his right hand together in a fist and holding it outwards. A fire burned brightly in his eyes as he spoke,  reality giving way to his spirit. "I am a warrior brother, and my blade cannot be stayed. I only offer our assistance on your mission as we would go ourselves otherwise."

He moved closer to Tsunkai, this time placing his hands on his brothers arms and looking directly at him. "You know that we are capable Tsunkai, you were the one who trained me how to use a sword, did you forget?" The grip on his brothers arms became tigher, and he shook him gently once. "Trust in your teachings, in my experience, in the warrior blood in our veins." His hands slid away from his brother and fell back to his sides after his speech. He observed Tsunkai, seeing it clear that he was mulling over the proposition. Everything that Tenjinsai had said was true, and he knew that both he and Mikoto could handle it. They were not greenhorns, some simple amateurs that had picked up a blade and thought they could take on the world. No, they were trained warriors that had been in conflict for years with the violence and evil that wandered the rukongai.

A sigh emanated from Tenjinsai's brother and grabbed his attention back from his thoughts, perhaps it was a deliberation to be made. Though, a sigh never typically marked anything good, for the party that it had come from. Tsunkai turned to face both Tenjinsai and Mikoto, a stern look upon his face and his arm extended out with a single digit extended towards them. "You may both come, but only on several conditions being met." He moved forward slightly, his gaze moving back and forth between the two vigilantes. "Number one, you two will be junior members of the party, serving as underlying to even my lowest ranking officers. Regardless of your skills in combat you have little actual education and your skills are crude at best overall. You will use this time to learn as well as assist us in our mission. Perhaps you will come out better on the other side."

Tenjinsai stepped forward quickly to attempt objecting but a hand stayed his move, Mikoto had placed his left hand upon his shoulder and shook his head lightly. "If we desire to get what we want, we must also give your brother something that he wants as well. I do not mind playing cabin boy to gain valuable experience, both in command and battle." Sighing lightly, Tenjinsai nodded in agreement, turning his attention back to his brother knowing that there was more to come. "Secondly, we will camp here for several days allowing everyone rest and preparation for the upcoming operation. During this time you two will be given a crash course in the basics learned at the academy. You will learn some rudimentary Kidou as well as the fundamentals of Hakuda and Hohou." Turning slightly to the right a small smirk appeared on Tsunkai's face as he continued to speak. "I doubt any tutoring in Zanjutsu will be necessary though. Unless of course.."

Tsunkai turned back to face the two of them, his gaze resting on each for only a few moments before turning to his men. "..You two would like to see how you measure up to a full fledged Shinigami." Tenjinsai's attention moved from his brother to some of the other shinigami that were part of Tsunkai's unit, a few of them looked over somewhat startled and confused, others smirked slightly at the concept. It was no surprise that they would be mostly dismissive at his brothers last comment. They were shinigami that had gone through the academy and had been thoroughly trained in all the arts. They were confident in their abilities and doubted that any vigilante vagabonds from the Rukongai would be a match for them. However, now with that opportunity on the table Tenjinsai was more then motivated to take his brother up on his conditions, and perhaps set a few minds straight.

Moving forward slowly, Tenjinsai turned his attention back to Mikoto for a moment with a sly grin on his face and then turned his attention back to his brother. "Brother, or perhaps, Sir, would be more appopriate. We accept the conditions for being a part of this expedition party. If it is all the same to you as well..." Tenjinsai lowered his left hand down to his sash and let his hand grip the hilt of his zanpaktou. "..Perhaps we can start our training right now."

Re: A new start

Post by Tenjinsai Bushinji on Mon May 22, 2017 10:28 pm

Tenjinsai's brother lifted his eyebrow at the statement, looking at him quizzically to the offer. Though it couldn't be completely unexpected, he was eager to prove himself and it was also an opportunity to advance his skills. It was not something that he took lightly, nor was it something that he would pass up the opportunity to involve himself in. He was still fired up from the battle earlier as well and that type of intensity and focus would aid him well in a spar against a fully trained shinigami. While Tenjinsai mulled these thoughts over in his head his brother had turned around and looked at the group that was under his command. None of them seemed particularly intrigued by the offer, but none had been offered the opportunity either. There was a strong chance many of them would be up for the opportunity to put a young cocky runt in his place as well, so everyone had motivation.

"Men, are any of you, bold enough, to accept the challenge of these two warriors in a friendly spar. Perhaps, you can show them what the training of the academy has imparted on you, as well as the experience you have gathered during your career." A few moments passed as it appeared the shinigami thought amongst themselves to who felt it was worth it to accept such a challenge. But before long two individuals stood up and strode forward towards Tsunkai, responding to his words. "Sir, we are up for a friendly spar with the two newest members of our unit. I would ask you set the terms of engagement to see what is or is not allowed for this spar." A slight smile crept up on Tsunkai's face as he looked back towards Tenjinsai and Mikoto. "Anything goes, barring the use of your shikai for those of you who have attained it. Beyond that, you may use anything at your disposal to defeat them barring lethal techniques."

"Yes sir!!" The two men moved forward as Tsunkai stepped out of the way closing the gap between Tenjinsai and Mikoto. He observed the two men closely as they approached, raising an eyebrow as he looked them up and down. The man who was closest to himself, who he assumed would be his opponent, was a bit larger and thicker then he was. He stood two, maybe three inches taller, and a bit bulkier in terms of musculature. Other then that there was nothing particularly striking about the man that he took notice of. The one however that Mikoto was going to deal with was fairly short, perhaps half a foot shorter then Mikoto. They had long hair as well that draped over the left side of their face leaving only their right eye open to everyone. They were very slender as well, looking little more then having gotten basic daily exercise to their body's figure. It was amazing that they were a shinigami at all possessing such a frail body. Though, looks can be deceiving when it came to an individuals power.

Tenjinsai stepped forward slightly and bowed his head slightly, a showing of respect to his soon to be opponent. Mikoto followed suit shortly there after and the two they were about to face did so after such. He then paced off to the left and moved slightly away from the rest of the group to give himself and his, partner, some room. He nodded his head slightly at the individual who would be his opponent signalling him to follow him to where he was headed. Mikoto did the same leading his partner off to the right, each now with plenty of breathing room for their spars. It was not going to be anything particularly intense, but freedom of motion without having to be concerned about anyone else around them. It allowed Tenjinsai to give it his all in the upcoming spar and truly show what he was capable of and that he was not to be looked down upon. It would give him more then just his name to sit upon, he wanted to be known for more then just who he was related to, and instead, who he was.

Speaking of who people were, it was also be nice to know just who he would be fighting. Placing his right hand in a fist and placing his left hand flat against it, he again did a light bow as a formal gesture before a fight. After doing so, Tenjinsai's hands fell back to his sides, his left hand resting on the hilt of his zanpaktou. He turned his attention back to his opponent, this time however he was ready to start. He dropped into a combat stance and was all but about to lunge into action, there was one last thing to do before things began. "My name is Tenjinsai Bushinji, Protector of the People and a Vigilante of Rukongai. Not particularly esteemed, but I conduct my work with pride. May I inquire as to your identity as well? I like to know who's blade I meet in battle." There was a small silence before his opponent also dropped into a combat stance, but not before returning a gesture of respect to him as well.

It was after this that Tenjinsai would get the information he desired. "My name is Yuuta Hashimoto, Ninth Seated Officer of the Thirteenth Division. It will be a pleasure to do battle with you, Tenjinsai Bushinji, Protector of the People." Now that formalities had been disposed off both sides slowly drew their blades now ready to do battle. Silence drifted in the air, the two stood, blades drawn, ready to move at a moments notice. No moves were made though, not a single step forward, a finger twitched, even an eye blinked. They just simply stared, every nerve standing on end as they waited to see who would make the first move. It felt as though minutes had passed, hours even, before the roar of the wind came through their camp. Without a thought Tenjinsai lunged forward, his blade poised to strike with a swipe across his targets midsection.

Yuuta was quick to respond, moving his blade in an upward arc diagonally. The strike was parried and left him in a position to respond to Tenjinsai's strike. It would be a downward chop aimed for Tenjinsai's right shoulder. He would sidestep quickly out of the way, moving to his left so as to not have his shoulder bisected, and prepared his blade for another strike. Pivoting on his left foot to face Yuuta after his dodge, Tenjinsai lunged forward, his blade aimed to run his target through. Again, his opponent was quick to respond, ducking low so the strike would go harmlessly over head and then moved in close shoulder charging Tenjinsai in the solar plexus. It was a light blow from the distance but still radiated a blunt pain through his chest. Tenjinsai stumbled backwards slightly, his left hand moving over the injured area almost subconsciously.

This was not the end of Yuuta's assault however as he had placed his left hand across his chest while still kneeling. It was held open handed, and parallel in position to Tenjinsai. "Hadou Number One, Sho." Tenjinsai immediately knew what was going to happen at the incanted call of the most basic hadou spell. A quick blast of nearly invisible energy rippled outwards towards him and struck him hard. He stumbled backwards again, this time losing his balance and falling backwards into a tree, striking his back hard. He grunted slightly, the pain from the strike being evident, but nowhere near ready to give up as of yet. Steadying himself, he looked his opponent over and had barely enough time to react as he saw them upon him. Yuuta was lunging through the air, his knee poised to crack Tenjinsai right in the forehead, hoping to score a quick victory.

Tenjinsai was quick on his feet though at least, and slipped down and under the strike and maneuvering around to the right side of his opponent. Using the hilt of his blade, he moved in and smashed it against Yuuta's ribs as he was now recovering from striking the tree where Tenjinsai had been instead of him as intended. The shinigami reeled to his left, his free hand holding onto his ribs while pivoting to face his opponent again. Tenjinsai used this opportunity to try something, experimental. Holding his left hand out in the same open palmed formation as Yuuta had, he gathered reiryoku in the palm of his hand and paid his assailant back in kind. "Hadou Number One, Sho!" The translucent energy rippled from the palm of his hand, though not quite as controlled as his opponent had done, and struck Yuuta hard. He had used his blade to attempt absorbing the blow but the weight of the strike knocked his guard upwards and him with it.

He was sent backwards a solid three or four feet before landing on the group in a heap. It took him a moment to recover, which Tenjinsai took the time to reorganize himself and move into a combat stance again. His eyes moved to his left hand briefly before looking back to Yuuta who was now on his feet. 'Kidou huh, I could get used to this.' He smirked slightly before holding his left hand out towards Yuuta again. Reiryoku gathered once more as Yuuta decided to charge forward towards Tenjinsai. He most likely wanted to attempt covering the ground before Tenjinsai could get the hadou off, but that was exactly what the wanderer had planned. As Yuuta neared Tenjinsai lowered his hand and turned his blade sideways, his left hand resting on the bottom of the hilt. Swinging wide, Tenjinai used the flat of his blade to swat at Yuuta across his neck as he charged in.

He had no time to recover from his charge in towards Tenjinsai and could only raise his shoulder to attempt absorbing some of the blow. It worked, to an extent, but the wide majority of the force struck him hard and knocked him off to his right, flooring the shinigami on the ground. Tenjinsai took the moment to readjust his stance after the strike, waiting for his opponent to rise. Yuuta stood slowly, rubbing his neck and shaking his head slightly from the disorientation that most likely resulted from the strike. He stepped forward twice after regaining himself and held his blade out in front, both hands on the hilt in a basic kendo stance. "You are quite good for someone who has never had any formal training. It is no wonder you two have been able to survive out here for so long doing what you do."

Tenjinsai laughed lightly, and shifted his stance slightly, mimicking the one that Yuuta had just taken. "That, my friend, is where you are mistaken. I never claimed to have no formal training, I have just not attended the academy as all of you have." The two began to circle slowly, moving around one another but never gaining any shortening the distance between them. "My skill with a blade, and combat abilities come from experience of course, having lived out here for many years doing what we have been doing. However, my basics have been taught to me by the man that you serve as a commander." Yuuta's eyebrow raised slightly before starting to nod slowly, understanding exactly what he meant. "It is no wonder then why you have such skill with your zanpaktou. If Tsunkai was indeed your teacher then it is no wonder that you possess as much skill as you do, however."

Yuuta charged forward after that, launching a flurry of piercing stabs at Tenjinsai which he proceeded to parry one after another. Before long a wide swipe across his abdomen was next to come which Tenjinsai avoided easily. It was almost too easy how it had come and now left an opening large enough to drive a truck through. Moving toward Yuuta, Tenjinsai stopped mid advance and slid forward on his right foot turning with the same side facing his opponent. His blade had been placed in front of him facing to the left and as his slide halted in advance he slashed outwards towards the target using the peak of his momentum to increase the impact. His blade however never reach its target, or even finished its full arc. He felt a strong presence on his wrist and another one gripping the top of his robes. Before he could even react, Tenjinsai's world was turned upside down, literally.

He was flung up in the air over Yuuta and slammed down onto his back on the ground behind him. An ache ripped through his body as he reflexively arched his back to correct the sudden impact. Then rolling to the right and slowly regaining himself, Tenjinsai stumbled to his feet and prepared himself, his attention returning to his opponent. "You are certainly good Tenjinsai, with a blade. But you lack proper training in anything else and cannot appropriately respond to an outside threat other then that from a blade. You do have a great aptitude, prodigious in how quickly you can pick things up from the example of that kidou. But if you do not utilize it you will not be able to stand against someone who is a trained fighter."

Re: A new start

Post by Mikoto Kurokei on Sat May 27, 2017 11:04 pm

After listening to everything that was said by tenjinsai and his brother things were getting odd in a sense. While he was alright with going with them and well being a cabin boy in a sense he could learn alot from them they are fully trained shinigami after all. What mikoto didn't expect was being tossed into a spar wit hone of them "great" he thought tenjinsai had to say something he couldn't just leave it be and let them go, no they had to pick a fight with them. Normally mikoto would be pretty good for a spare but generally they were against thugs who thought they were all that never against properally trained fighters.

He could only think of how did they get into this mess but sadly dwelling on it wont change anything. When the two memebers of his brothers unit came up to offer up as their sparring parnters mikoto took a good look at them to see what they or in this case he would be dealing with. Tenjinsai it seemed would be fighting against a larger oppenent then him while his was a tad shorter them him and not built as well. But if there was one thing that tenjinsai's uncle taught him or atleast brought up a few times was looks can and will be very deciving. His oppenent was mostly likely up against him due to him most likerly being similar to himself in away or a counter to his abilites which would also make sense.

While luckily his oppenent didn't start figthing right away most likely due to him waiting for mikoto to say he was ready he took the oppertunity to observe tenjinsai's fight. Aparrently his oppenent was called yuuta he was from the thirteenth division and was the ninth seated officer, while he sure tenjinsai could handle himself in such a spare this is generally a situation where he would need to assist tenjinsai in such a fight unfocuntely this is a one on one fight so he is forced to stay out of it or well tenjinsai would probably kick his ass for butting in. While watching the fight they both seemed well in sword fighting and apparently tenjinsai managewd to pick up on some kido during it or beforehand. "sho" he thought why does that remind him of something. Mikoto thought for awhile on what that was then he remembered that tenjinsai's uncle taught him some kido when mikoto was over ant tenjinsai's place every now and then. Mikoto couldn't believe he forgot about that "Which one was it" he began to think then he rememebered which one Jugeki Byakuri was it that could come in handy for his spar.

While at the time mikoto was really good at it as the years went by and a bit of teaching from tenjinsai's uncle helped him to get the hang of it. During this time it seemed that tenjinsai spar had a break in the action and he thought it was probably about time for him to actually do his surprisingly though his oppenent was patient enough to not get annoyed while mikoto watch his friends fight. "Well" mikoto thought experience it lifes best teacher some days best get one with it no getting out of it really. While not the best sword fighter himself he would need to rely on his brain more then his physical fighting ability "Sorry for making you wait and i appreciate your patience, but i am ready now" mikoto took his fighting stance readying his sword for the fight ahead "That's fine take all the time you need it's not going to help you much but by all means" his oppenent ready himself as well. Mikoto also remembered that he hadn't gotten the name of his sparring partner "Oh i almost forgot i haven't gotten your name, I am mikoto kurokei who are you?" his oppenent laughed "Ah yes I am Takuji Nishiyama and it is a pleasure to meet you".

Mikoto was going to have to be very tactical how he used his abilities he could only use his kido for two shots maybe three but it wouldnt be very strong. He pondered on what his first move would be he could blast his oppenent with kido which could catch him off guard but that would only leave him with one decent shot left before he got tired. Then gain he could hold off on using it and wait for a better time but that could run the risk of the battle ending before he got a chance to use it. Unforcunately while mikoto was trying to come with a strategy takuji went of the offensive, with just barely enough time to react mikoto just got out of the way it would seem he was going to have to play it by ear not the best way but it seems he wouldn't have the time to come up wit ha decent strategy. This is when takuji spoke up "Very nice you managed to dodge my attack but a peice of advice you make it very easy to tell when you in deep thought think quicker rather sitting their trying to think up what to do" he then proceeded to attack again, mikoto was able to drawn his sword and block the attack. "Man" he thought "this guy can read me like a book so far" he then countered takuji and made a attack of his own though his oppenent was somewhatly physically stronger then himself so it was alot of effort to keep him guarding. Mikoto looked at takuji "your quite strong but i still have an idea on what to do" confused takuji replied "really? seems to me like you have no plan so far what could you do?".

Feeling like he was being mocked a bit mikoto took a stance and prepared to attack "Hadou number ninteen, Jugeki Byakuri" a powerful lightning bolt shot from mikoto's left finger towards takuji. Takuji apparently was caught off guard by this not expecting his oppenent to know such kido was able to almost get out of the way and took a hit to his right shoulder "impressive never would have thought you even knew kido much less Jugeki Byakuri" feeling a bit tired from the kido mikoto replied "there is much you don't know about me" takuji smiled "it does seem that way i wonder what other surpirses you have in store, but if you don't mind me asking where did you learn that kido i have my doubts you figured that out on your own". Taking a deep breath wondering if he should tell him mikoto thought they probaly figure it out sooner or later so might as well tell them anyway "It was infact tenjinsai's uncle Hayashi that taught me every time i visited tenjinsai's place he would show me a thing or two about kido" after saying that there was a few surprised looks on the faces of tenjinsai's brothers tsunkai's squad most of them probably never would have thought hayashi would bother with mikoto much less teach him kido. After the surprise left takuji's face he replied "very impressive i would have never guessed in a million years you are really full of surprises arn't you?" unforcunately that surprise only had one more shot before things would get messy mikoto was going to have to really be careful on when he used it prefferably though not using it again would be better.

Re: A new start

Post by Tenjinsai Bushinji on Sat May 27, 2017 11:11 pm

Tenjinsai rolled his neck as he continued to listen to his opponent speak. He knew that Yuuta was right, he lacked any discipline in the shinigami arts other then zanjutsu. Granted he had never felt particularly inclined to use them, nor was there much call for it in his, line of work. In the rukongai there was never really any call to use anything other then a sword, for anyone. The shinigami, especially after the most recent of events, were rarely to be seen. The outskirts were pure anarchy and people could pretty much do whatever they wanted to for the most part. Adding in the factor that most of the ruffians out here could barely use a sword and had very little actual spiritual energy, it was an easy fight. Tenjinsai was now stepping into a world he had never been a part of before though. There were new skills that he needed to acquire in order to be able to survive in it.

He needed to be able to adapt to his enemies and be continually stronger then them if he wished to remain a living entity in this world. Sighing lightly, he changed his combat stance to signify he was ready to continue their battle. His sword no resided in his left hand, his right completely open. He turned himself slightly to the left, so that he would lead with his sword and leave his right as his back hand. He had a plan now, he just hoped that it would work. "I appreciate your words Yuuta and will be sure to hold on to them. For the time being though, shall we continue?" A quick nod from Yuuta was all that he needed to know that it was time to begin. Lunging forward, Tenjinsai reached out with his blade attempting to stab his opponent in the chest. The strike was easily deflected by Yuuta, however it was only the first in the barrage that Tenjinsai prepared to unleash.

A rain of piercing blows came upon Yuuta as Tenjinsai pressed forward and continued to stab at him over and over at a variety of angles and areas. However, these blows were more of a distraction then anything, putting Yuuta on the defensive and giving him the chance for an opening that he wanted. As the moments went on and each stab was parried in some way or another, the opening would finally present itself. As another piercing thrust was pushed off to the side, it left Yuuta's chest wide open. There was a gap as clear as day and Tenjinsai most certainly intended to take advantage of it. Rushing forward with his blade dropping down to his side, he moved his right arm forward and cocked his elbow slightly to change the angle of the punch he was to deliver. It was aimed slightly upward, and jammed itself directly up into his targets solar plexus.

His strike did not have much substance behind it, though it was never meant to. He only needed one single moment of disorientation from Yuuta to continue through on his plan. That moment, it was given to him, and he continued to capitalize upon it. Pulling his right hand back only slightly in a quick motion, he opened it up and spat out a few words that he had uttered only a few minutes ago. "Hadou Number One, Sho." As he spoke the kidou that he prepared to use, energy had gathered in his palm and rippled out directly into his targets abdomen. While his physical feats were not anything special, it was his kidou, it would turn out, that was truly marvelous. Yuuta was sent upwards, five or six feet into the air, before falling backwards to the ground quite a few feet away.

Smirking ever so slightly for just a moment, Tenjinsai moved back to his previous combat posture and waited for his target to get to his feet. He was sure that they were not complete with their spar, not by a long shot. The man he fought, he was a full fledged shinigami. Not just some fledgling that just graduated from the academy, he had blood on his hands, experience in his mind. If he could not take a simple strike like that and continue fighting, then he had no business even being a shinigami. "Not bad, not bad at all." A few words of praise as Yuuta straightened out his shihakushou and prepared to do battle once more. Tenjinsai was running out of options though. He had his superior sword play at his disposal as well as the use of one kidou spell. It was not enough for him to be able to win the spar though. One of them would have to tire out eventually, and between the two of them, it would probably be him.

"It seems you are learning as you fight, or perhaps just observing and copying. Either way, let us see just how far you can take this before you run out of tricks." Tenjinsai raised an eyebrow, somewhat confused at the statement and almost unnerved. It seemed as though Yuuta could have been playing around the entire time for the most part. Was he actually trying to teach Tenjinsai as they sparred, was that his brothers intention the entire time? There was no real way to know unfortunately, nor did it particularly matter. There was one end goal and only one means of getting there, win. He had to beat Yuuta so that he could win the spar, in the end, that was all that truly matter. Charging forward again Tenjinsai continued the same pattern he had opened up with before. He unleashed a barrage of piercing blows at his opponent, all of them one by one being parried away.

He made sure however to be more careful about the opening he would use, and also keeping himself safe as well. Yuuta would be privy to his movements this time, knowing exactly what he would be looking for. He would know when to prepare himself, perhaps even leave an opening on purpose to bring Tenjinsai in with a false promise. Stab, parry, stab, parry, it was the pattern that had now become the entirety of the fight at this point. It was almost like that of an elegant dance at a ball, both partners moving in sync with one another at amazing speed and precision. Each combatant executed their movements with expert acuity, neither giving an inch to the other, locked forever in an eternal duel. Just as that aspect was beginning to sink in, the opening came, the one that he had been looking for yet again. Though, he hesitated, for only a moment before driving right in.

He was not sure of the nature of this opening, but if he did not take the risk, he would never know if it was real or not. Lunging forward as he had done before, he let his left arm sink down and his right arm move forward. His elbow twitched slightly as he adjusted his arm for the strike. However, as he swung his arm made contact with only air, as he suspected Yuuta had read his moves. He had already known what Tenjinsai was going to attempt, it was a question of which one of them was faster. It became clear at this moment that it was Yuuta who held the edge in that department. As his fist moved through the air, Tenjinsai heard a slight uttering from Yuuta off to his right. He knew what to expect from the last time that he heard his opponent speak in the middle of battle when he was not directly addressing him. Pivoting on his right foot he turned and moved back slightly, now facing his opponent and attempting to gain some distance.

Upon landing he changed his footing, returning to the stance he had used the previous two engagements with Yuuta. As he did so however a tangle of yellow energy came ripping towards him, twitching oddly and erratically as it moved through the air. "Bakudou Number Four, Hainawa." Tenjinsai's eyes perked immediately and became wide with understanding. He knew which kidou that was, and it was not one that he desired to come in contact with. If it reached him and was able to bind him, as was its purpose, that would be the end of their little spar. He knew he did not have the physical fortitude to be able to break out of it, and would have to admit defeat. Gritting his teeth, Tenjinsai lunged out to his left, and reach his blade out in front of him attempting to intercept the kidou. His plan worked, however only barely, as the yellow band of energy wrapped itself around his zanpaktou and down to his hand.

It would seem that he would be holding on to his zanpaktou for the remainder of the battle, unless the energy itself dissipated at some point. That was not to be a particular problem for him however, as it was somewhat needed for him to hold onto it. Moving back to his stance, he held his blade out in front and his arm behind him yet again. "A good attempt Yuuta, but not good enough. You will have to try harder then that if you want to put me down for good." A small grin came from his opponent as he moved forward slightly, preparing his own combat stance. "Then perhaps it is time to take this spar seriously then." A twitch of concern crossed Tenjinsai's brow as those words came from his opponent. His fears from earlier had proved to be true. He had a feeling that moving forward from this moment, the spar was going to become an entirely different beast all together.

Re: A new start

Post by Tenjinsai Bushinji on Sun Jun 04, 2017 4:17 pm

It appeared it was time for things to kick it up a notch, a notch Tenjinsai was not sure he had in him. His opponent had been essentially playing around this entire time. The key factor now would be to determine in exactly what areas that Yuuta had been toying with him in. Was he faster then it seemed, stronger perhaps? He could almost guarantee that he had more kidou at his disposal since that was a mainstay of the academy as well. There was no way he only knew two very simple kidou spells after taking the full course and graduating. Tenjinsai would have to be more careful then ever before moving forward into the spar. Maintaining his stance he inched forward slowly and began to circle starting his and Yuuta's little dance again. The two went round and round, moving slowly, and never moving their eyes from their target.

Tenjinsai watched every single move, any twitch that could be an indicator of an assault. It was nerve racking for him, being unsure what his opponent was truly capable of and what he would do in his next move. It also left him unsure of how to proceed from here. His previous strategies had worked based off of a relative level of comparison between him and Yuuta. If Yuuta was truly well beyond where he was currently at, he was not sure exactly what he should do. One way or another though there was only one thing that Tenjinsai could really do, and that was continue the spar. Lunging forward Tenjinsai began his series of maneuvers starting with the series of stabbing thrusts with his zanpaktou. One after another his thrusts were parried as they were before. Nothing out of the ordinary thus far, but that did not mean things were not going to change.

Stab, parry, stab, parry, it went in order over and over and over. Once Tenjinsai found his opening though is when things started to change. He drove through the gap as he did before, but this time was much, much different. When he charged through his opponent was gone in the moment that he should have made impact. Yuuta had disappeared in the blink of an eye and Tenjinsai could not fathom where he could have gone. It was in that moment that his senses gave way to instinct and he dived forward into a roll and sprung up to his feet a small distance away. As he did so a blade swept across the area he had once stood, and would have sliced across his back had he not moved. Turning quickly to face Yuuta, he saw him for only a moment before he disappeared again. 'Shunpou...' Tenjinsai thought to himself as he recognized the shinigami technique for what it was.

He should not have been surprised that Yuuta was capable of performing such a feat. It was after all a part of the basic set of skills a shinigami acquired at the academy. But regardless, knowing what the technique was did not give him an apt defense against it. He still could not aptly land a blow on his target with him moving at the speeds that he was. In all honesty Tenjinsai was unsure of how to even proceed at this point. It seemed as though victory would be an impossibility with the position he had now found himself in. His opponent was stronger and had been more thoroughly trained then himself. Yuuta was also faster then him and capable of using techniques that Tenjinsai had never even attempted learning. He could not hit what he could not see, and if he could not hit him then how could he win. As that thought rippled through his mind he felt a quick breeze rush behind him.

Turning around quickly he came to see that he did not turn around fast enough as Yuuta was already behind him as well as mid strike. The flat of his blade came crashing down in a wide right arc and slammed into Tenjinsai's neck. He stumbled to his left and fell to the ground, pain ripping through his body. As he tumbled down he rolled to attempt a recovery and stopped a few feet away in a crouched stance. His left hand moved to his neck where the blade had struck and grabbed it roughly. He rubbed it with the intent of someone giving a rough massage to work out some of the pain. That strike had more force behind it then anything that Yuuta had put out thus far, and it was a great deal more as well. If he absorbed a few more of those he may not even be able to retain consciousness. Moving slowly to his feet his eyes steadied and placed themselves on Yuuta once again.

His opponent had his blade placed over his right shoulder and paced slowly back and forth, one eye kept on Tenjinsai the entire time. "Having a rough time trying to keep up Tenjinsai? I can honestly say I am not surprised given that you really have nothing going for you aside from some meager combat experience." He sighed lightly, and moved his weapon hand down from his shoulder and let it hang idly at his side. "Be certain as well, I do not mean to offend you either. For what you have you are quite talented, but you were never going to be capable of beating me from the start." Tenjinsai could feel a heat gathering in the back of his head. It was anger, rising up from within him at Yuuta's words. He knew that he was right given what his opponent was capable of, but he made light of everything that he had learned and done up to this point.

He did not know the trials that Tenjinsai had to go through to even get to this point. It was truely a miracle that he was even still alive with all of the chaos that was going on in the rukongai, especially with the recent events that had set all of the Soul Society into a panic. Now, he had essentially been told everything he had worked for to this point had been, well, pointless. It amounted to next to nothing compared to somebody who had lived most of their life comfortably and enjoyed more status and privilege simply because they had become a shinigami. He knew in his mind that such thoughts were hypocritical as his family were all shinigami and more privileged then all but the highest nobility. But he had seperated himself from it, though not of his own choice, and could cast judgment that way that he did. He did not hold them in contempt for being given what they had, but for not acknowledging the struggle of others.

It was something that bothered him deeply to no end, and something that would never truly be corrected, and certainly not by any effort of his own hands. As the anger continued to boil inside him his thoughts were halted by something he could not explain. It was a sound, a lingering voice that dug itself deep into his mind. His eyes darted around trying to find the source of the noise but there was no one in the area that it had come from. It had been born from within his own mind, something that led him to believe he was possibly going insane. It continued to ripple through his mind, speaking to him with words that he did not understand. 'This man, he does not understand the struggle of the destitute and outcast. Yet he claims to uphold justice and protect the weak. Is he good or is he evil, should he be smited or be praised?'

The words were confusing, but in some weird way he felt a familiarity them as well. They rang with a strange understanding in his mind and he found himself wanting to converse with this voice that had now shown itself. 'It is a slight but this man is not wicked, he would lay down his life to protect those who could not protect themselves. But who are you that you would ask to place judgment on him.' Tenjinsai waited in silence before the voice called out to him again, this time more prominent and most definitely inside his mind. 'I am you, and you are me, and we are the just. Is it not the duty of the just to judge those who are pious or wicked?' It was an interesting answer to be certain, one that just brought more questions to Tenjinsai. This voice in his head claimed them to be one in the same, which made sense in a way since it was in his head.

But beyond that, the being claimed them to be the judge of others as they were 'just'. He was unsure what to make of it, perhaps probing the voice further could bring more light to it. Though to be fair, probing the voice was the only real way of finding anything out further. Hopefully whatever it was would stay here long enough to actually answer some questions. 'You say we are one in the same, but, I do not understand. Nor do I really think that I am one to be judging others. No one is truly without blame, myself included.' There was silence for a while, what seemed like ages in fact. The voice spoke again though, this time being more concise and meaningful with its words. 'It is as I said we are one in the same. I am just another piece of you, a part of your soul, your power that is yet to be realized.' A few more moments passed before the voice spoke again, this time accompanied by Tenjinsai's vision fading as well.

'Perhaps the best way to explain, is to show you.' After a few seconds, Tenjinsai's vision returned and his surroundings had changed drastically. He was no longer in the forests of the Rukongai. He now found himself within the manor of what appeared to be a noble family. There was no way that it could be anything but that with how lavish and splendid his surroundings were. He stood in the main hall of the building it appeared as well, and at the head of it sat a being of immense stature. There was no way they were human of any sort, dead or alive. They were easily three or four times Tenjinsai's height and dwarved him even while sitting. The creature was green skinned, and had horns that adorned its head. They moved upwards for what was roughly two feet and pointed backwards slightly. They were garbed in what appeared to be a red gi and had a massive blade at the side of the chair they sat upon.

"Come forward Tenjinsai, come so that we may truly meet for the first time." Tenjinsai moved forward slowly, looking around the room though making sure to keep his wits about him incase things were not as kind as they seemed. "I have awaited this meeting for a long time and with more anticipation then you could ever know." Tenjinsai stopped about fifteen feet from the throne of the creature, not wanting to get closer then he had to. He did not know the true nature of this beast, nor how he had gotten to where he was. There was too much going on that he did not trust and could not afford to be too open. As if by instinct his left hand also reached out for where his blade would typically be, but it was nowhere to be found. His sheath was not in his sash, nor was his blade anywhere that he could see. He was unarmed, in an unfamiliar place, with a creature he had never seen before that was rather threatening just by appearance.

Surely whatever situation he found himself in could not bode well for him. "Alright, so, where am I and could you give me a more concise answer as far as who you are?" The creature looked at him quietly for a moment, and then stood up slowly, its towering stature becoming even more apparent. It moved forward slowly until it was only a few feet away from Tenjinsai and knelt before him. It reached its arms out with its blade being held between them and offered it to Tenjinsai. "Take hold of this blade Tenjinsai and all will become clear to you." He looked at it quizzically, most due to the fact that the blade was larger then he was. From end to end it was probably fifteen or sixteen feet long and there was no way that he would be able to wield it. But if taking hold of the weapon was going to reveal all that he desired to know, then that was what he would do.

As he reached out and his right hand took hold of the blade, both the creature and weapon started to slowly dissipate. They turned into a mist and both merged and twisted into a blade that seemed familiar to him. He held a new weapon in his hands, but it was not truly new, as it was his. In that moment everything became clear to him as he understood exactly what was happening. "I am you and you are me, we are one. I understand now, you are my zanpaktou." A faint feeling of elation could be felt as though it was coming from his weapon as he spoke those words. "I have waited for this moment for a long time, and now it has come. Go forth Tenjinsai, know my name and know your power." As the world around him blurred and his vision grew white again he soon found himself back in the forest of rukongai, Yuuta still standing before him as before.

It was as though no time had even passed while he had been in that dream like state. Holding his zanpaktou out before him he was compelled by a power he had never felt before. He pointed it towards his opponent and roared its name to the heavens. "Kiyomeru, Seijin Enma!!" As he revealed the name of his zanpaktou its form changed and morphed, his power exploding outward as it did so. The blade itself was the only thing that changed, but drastically change it did. It has transformed into a roaring mass of flames, rippling out from the guard of his weapon. Its heat rippled outwards and could be felt by all nearby. He gave it a light swing, testing the power of his new release, a wave of fire being released by it which blasted the ground and scorched the earth. Raising an eyebrow at its destructive power, Tenjinsai turned his attention back to Yuuta and gave him a look of confidence. It was one that said, if you dare to come forward, I will strike you down.

Re: A new start

Post by Tenjinsai Bushinji on Sun Jun 11, 2017 11:20 pm

There were a lot of things Tenjinsai had expected when he had released, or more appropriately, acquired his shikai. He was expecting surprise, shock, something akin to that. Instead however what he received was a baseline of almost nothing. They just looked on at him as if they had expected it. Even his brother in the background gave not the slightest sign of being confused or maybe even impressed. As if on cue though, Yuuta looked back to Tsunkai and his brother began to walk forward. "It happened a lot sooner then you had expected sir, but it did happen." Tenjinsai's eyebrows furrowed, being unsure of how to interpret what was now going on. He looked between Yuuta and his brother, trying to figure out exactly what was happening in front of him. Was this entire thing planned, did his brother expect him to be on the cusp of gaining his shikai?

There was too much that Tenjinsai did not know and it was starting to become irritating. Still though, he stood and watched, waiting for some form of an explanation as his brother came forward. "He did indeed manifest it sooner then I had thought, but it runs in the family. Our father acquired his shikai while still in the academy taking a dummy hollow practice test. He ended up fighting a real hollow and defeated it as a first year." He sighed slightly and then smirked, crossing his arms and looking at Tenjinsai. "I am unfortunately not as much of a prodigy as our father, I had acquired mine a few weeks prior to the graduation exams and made a big show out of the combat portion. It still grabbed the attention of quite a few people though I can say." Tenjinsai's brother moved forward toward him, pumping out enough reiatsu to keep him safe from the fire his newly released zanpaktou produced.

He placed his right hand on Tenjinsai's shoulder and turned, looking back at his men. "My brother here however, seems to follow right in the footsteps of our father, ironically enough. Perhaps he is even more of a prodigy then our old man." Tenjinsai stopped and looked down at the blade in his hand. The flames calm and cool, only flickering around every few moments or so, and barely at that. He had not even stopped to consider the fact that everything that had happened was staged. Well, perhaps not staged, but built upon by events that had recently occurred. As his mind and reiatsu calmed, his zanpaktou sealed itself away and the flames protruding from it subsided, the blade returning to its original form. He moved his arm away from his brother and sheathed his zanpaktou. Moving away a few feet he stopped, and turned to look at Tsunkai, his eyes still slightly glazed over.

"Has this whole spar just been some kind of game or something?" His brothers face twisted, a look of worry and confusion mixed upon it. Tsunkai moved forward toward him again, this time leading him away from the rest of the group to speak alone. They moved away several meters from everyone and stood in the darkness of the forest. His brother placed his arm over Tenjinsai's shoulder and looked up into the starry sky above as he spoke. "No, not quite a game, more what I would call a test. I could sense that you were nearing it with how developed your reiatsu was. There was no way that you could not be nearing it, you just needed a good since you haven't had formal schooling." Tenjinsai moved forward, throwing his brother's arm off of him and turning back, a fiery anger lit in his eyes. "Why is everything about formal schooling, training, academy graduate this and that. Is it so surprising that someone that doesn't have these things can achieve greatness like anybody else? Why does it automatically make me the black sheep just because I did not go to the academy?"

Tenjinsai gauged his brother as he sighed lightly, slinging his arm behind his head and scratching the back of his neck. He was thinking, clearly, as he was still staring up at the sky above him, trying to think of what to say. Perhaps Tenjinsai was just over thinking things. It was a standard thing in their culture for people to attend the academy if they possessed a decent degree of spiritual power. For him to have attained as much as he had already without doing so would of course draw the attention of others. But still, he did not like the fact that it almost made people look down on him. Before the academy ever existed this was how people had trained and gained their power. Certain people were just willing to put in the extra effort to advance to the next level and stand above the rest. It had most likely been the standard for shinigami for many centuries.

It was something in their culture that he did not understand or like, everything being so structured and being forced to be done in a specific fashion. Unfortunately his say in things did not amount to much in the world, if anything at all. He would have to use his strength to sway the minds of others and take the world by storm if he wanted things to change. That in itself, would take quite a bit of time though. Words began to flow though as his brother finally began to speak, his thoughts taking form and hopefully good meaning to Tenjinsai. "I cannot say that it is not because you have not gone to the academy. It is most definitely because of that fact that everyone will look at you differently, however." His brother moved forward and extended his right arm outward. A single digit extended from his hand as it reached out and touched Tenjinsai's chest.

"It is because of what you have in here that is so impressive because you have not gone to the academy. You have no real formal training, no studies to even think of. Yet, through all of that, you have achieved more then most people ever will in a fraction of the time. We are not looking down on you Tenjinsai, if anything we are looking up at the pedestal you are making for yourself without even realizing." It was in that moment that Tenjinsai realized the truth of his brothers words. Perhaps he had been looking at everything the wrong way from the beginning. People were not looking down on him and making light of his achievements because he had not been trained. They were instead amazed by the feats he had performed all of his own talents and cognition. He was starting to see things for what they truly were, or at least what some people saw it as.

Unfortunately there would always be those that would look down on him no matter what he did. It was a sad reality that he had to live with unless he decided to conform with the way that things were. He moved his arms upwards towards his chest and grasped his brothers hand between his. He gave the hand a light pat before moving it back to his brothers person. There was no more anger in his eyes, there was not much of anything anymore, just a somber understanding of the world. "I understand now what you mean brother. While it is good to know there are those that would look up to me, there are still those who would look down. It is something that will unfortunately never change for me. More so..." Tenjinsai turned and moved away a few feet, his left hand reaching out and grabbing hold of a low hanging branch of a tree.

His hand gripped it lightly and slowly started to intensify the grip around it as he spoke. "How long will it be before these people who look down on me grow to have disdain. Perhaps even those that look up to me now will grow to feel the same. Maybe even the Gotei Thirteen and Central Forty Six will see me as a threat if I become too strong. A wanderer with no affiliations besides being spurned by nobility? The odds are certainly not in my favor." As he spoke the branch he held on to snapped, falling to the ground and his hand quivering in a combination of fear and anger. "You are of good intentions though, no one would come for you unless you deserved it. There is no way that father would ever..." His brother's words stopped short as Tenjinsai turned to face him, acceptance of the reality he was in upon his face. "Would ever let them kill me? Father would be the one to come silence me, let alone stay the Gotei's blade. it is the first time I have thought about it, but perhaps the Soul Society is not the safest place for me..."

His brothers eyebrows rose wildly, before returning back down, raw surprise appearing on his face. "You cannot possibly mean to go to the World of the Living? The Senkaimon has been sealed since the incident and only a select few are ever allowed to even travel through. You would never make it to the door let alone get through it!!" It was now Tenjinsai who had his eyes turned upward, looking up to the sky, his thoughts rolling around and formulating a plan. He had an idea of how to get access to the Senkaimon, and even more he truly believed it would work. It was just the method of how he would have to do it that urked him and had made him reluctant to try. He had often thought about retreating to the World of the Living to get away from the place that had caused him so much pain and suffering. In the same light there was no realistic way for him to get there nor for him to survive there once he had done so.

But now, he was stronger, and he had the first release of his zanpaktou as well. He had of course not mastered it and just learned how to use it. With it though, he could stand on his own two legs to a degree and manage the dangers that may lurk in the darkness. But still, he would have to speak with someone he had not done so with in many, many years. "I know how to get to the World of the Living Tsunkai, but I do not want to do what I must to get access to a Senkaimon." His brother looked at him, squinting his eyes slightly before popping them back open, understanding what Tenjinsai was saying. "You said 'A' Senkaimon, you could not mean the person one our family has access to? Do you truly intend to ask father permission to use it to go to the world of the living. He would never allow such a thing!!"

"That my brother, is where you are wrong." Tenjinsai moved forward passed him, looking onward towards the group as he prostrated to his brother. "I believe that father would be more willing to help me because it gets rid of a problem for him as well. If I am in the world of the living then I am something that he does not need to worry about, in whatever capacity that would be. I will be gone, in a different world, perhaps even dead for all he knows. Returning will be even more difficult because it would be dictated by him, at least until the main Senkaimon is opened again." Tenjinsai turned to face his brother, Tsunkai's right arm extended out towards him with his pointer finger stuck out. He was dumbfounded, unable to say anything despite wanting to deny his brother the crediblity of his plan. It was of course absolutely asinine, but plausible at least.

His brother sighed and moved forward towards him again, this time resting his hands on his shoulders, their eyes locking as Tsunkai made a last ditch effort to stop his brother from doing something he believed he would regret. "Tenjinsai, do not attempt this, it is stupid and you will get yourself killed. There is insanely more hollow activity in the World of the Living right now, more then there has been in years. If I have to I will tell father myself about your plan to make sure that it does not succeed. I will not sit idly by while you do something so foolhardy. Why can you not just..." Tenjinsai cut his brother off, shaking his head and looking away knowing full well what his brother was going to say. It was something he knew would come eventually and also something that had been asked of him before.

"Why can I not just join the academy and become a shinigami like the rest of the family? Become a respectable member of the Gotei Thirteen and another staple of our family and the Soul Society. You know I cannot do that and it is not my way. I cannot join the Gotei Thirteen until I am stronger, until I can prove to father just how strong I am. Not until I can make him acknowledge me..." His fists clenched as he muttered that last sentence. It was ultimately his lifes goal to make his father acknowledge his worth as a person. The way he had decided to do that was to become stronger and force his father to acknowledge him with his own power. It was something that he had thought over time and time again and of course he knew it would not be easy. But, it was what he had dedicated his entire life to, and if he died one day, with at least that much accomplished, then he would die happy.

Despite what many thought, and how he was treated especially, he respected his father more then anyone else in the world. His father was strong, proud, and brave to a fault. He had put his life on the line dozens, perhaps even hundreds of times. The Gotei Thirteen would not be the same without him, and neither would Tenjinsai or the rest of his family. It was this fact that drove him to such madness thinking about it, that his father could not and would not acknowledge him for who he was. It was not his fault that his mother had died giving birth to him, it was something that he could not have possibly stopped. His father knew and understood that, but it caused him immense pain and grief whenever Tenjinsai was around, because all he saw was his wife. It was Tenjinsai's curse, something that even after attempting to prove himself, perhaps could not be fixed.

He could even remember it like yesterday, the day that his father had asked him to leave the manner. Even under protest of the other members of his family, the decision had been made, there was no changing his mind.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The day was warm, perhaps hot even, in the late spring. The cherry blossoms had just come into season recently and it was common to find people observing them for their beauty. It cast a degree of, serenity, and calmed someones soul on a crisp spring day. This day would not be that for Tenjinsai, it would instead be one of the most dreadful days of his life. He had been summoned to his fathers quarters in the estate, wanting to speak with him regarding something important. His uncle, Hayashi, and siblings, Tsunkai and Amaya, felt the need to escort him there as well, perhaps having an understanding of what was going to happen. As they neared the room, they stopped before the closed sliding door, his Uncle calling out to announce their presence.

"Tenkai, Tenjinsai is here with us as you requested." A brief silence followed with a low thudding noise coming shortly after it. "Come in." That was all his father said as they were granted permission to enter the quarters. Tenjinsai slid the door open, leading the small parade of his family members into his father's private quarters. As they entered, his father waved, offering a seat to Tenjinsai and the rest of them. "You know you all did not need to come, this was a matter for myself and Tenjinsai." As the group all slowly sat down, Hayashi spoke to offer a rebuttal to Tenkai. "I understand that Brother, but I found it important to myself, as well as your other children here, to be present for this conversation."

A light grumbling was all that was given in response to Hayashi's words. His father could not often argue with Hayashi, the latter being much more talented in the employment of prostration then himself. It had gotten to the point where, even if Tenkai had a dislike for something that his brother had spoken of, he had chosen to just accept it rather then debate the fact. Today however, the topic of discussion was something that no one would be able to debate, not even his uncle. "I have asked for you here, Tenjinsai.." Tenkai's gaze moved around the room as he spoke his son's name, making everyone know full well that they were allowed here under protest. "..To discuss something important with you that I have mulled over for a great deal of time."

Tenjinsai's father stood up slowly, and moved away from his desk, his back facing the group as he observed the environment in the window that he now faced. A light sigh emanated from his lips as he continued to speak. "Tenjinsai, you are here because I have decided to ask you to leave the estate. You are of age now and I cannot continue to allow you to live under this roof. Everyone know's the reason why as unfortunate as it is, but it is something I cannot put off any longer." As if on cue, Hayashi was quick to stand, most likely already knowing what was going to be discussed here today. "Brother, we all understand the situation as it is, and why it is that you ask it. Surely though, you cannot truly mean to expel your own flesh and blood from the only home they have ever known. To cast Tenjinsai out from his family would be an act of moral atrocity, one I cannot allow you to commit."

Without allowing him the chance to rebuttal, Tsunkai and Amaya had both stood next, desiring to add their ten cents each and hopefully change their fathers mind. "Father, you must listen to what Uncle Hayashi says. It is not Tenjinsai's fault for what had happened, there was nothing that could have prevented it. He does not deserved to be blamed for that which he could not control. If you are to blame the someone blame the heavens, blame fate, but please do not blame him." The next in line would be Amaya to speak, adding to what Tsunkai had said. "They are right father, please, you cannot do this to him. He is just barely of age, how can you expect him to survive in the Rukongai like this? Forcing him to leave the estate would be signing his death warrant. Could you truly be so cruel father?"

"ENOUGH!!" A roar of only one word from Tenjinsai's father silenced the entire room, everyone quickly returning to their seats. It was clear that nothing shy of divine intervention could sway Tenkai's decision. Tenjinsai was doomed from the second his father summoned him to his quarters and he now understood that. "All of your reservations are duly noted, but my decision is final. Your qualms are understandable, Tenjinsai is my son and family as well. But, he cannot remain here any longer..." Quickly standing up, Tenjinsai bowed to his father and spoke only a few words before leaving the room. "I understand father, I will do as you command and leave the estate as soon as I can. Allow me to pack my belongings before I leave."

Tenjinsai quickly left the room, marching away, his head still hung down as his siblings and uncle watched him hurry away. He moved quickly, heading to his own quarters to pack up his belongings so that he could leave as soon as he could. He just wanted to leave, to put this behind him, so he would not have to think of it anymore then he had to. It only took a few minutes to get his stuff together, a single large bag slung over his right shoulder. It was really all he would have left of his family, and his time here at the estate spent with them. Though perhaps, it would be better if he just forgot about all of it. He opened the door to leave and both of his siblings were standing there waiting for him. "Tenjinsai..."

Amaya spoke his name, unsure of what to say further, Tenjinsai not wanting to look at either of them for fear of second guessing his decision. He did not want to make more chaos then what was already present. "Brother you do not have to go, Uncle Hayashi is still talking to father, wait and see if he can change his mind." Tenjinsai simply shook his head and made his way past his siblings. "There is no changing father's mind, you know that as well as I do. This is something deep rooted in him that has been there for years. The only person that could change his mind is the one that I killed..." A silence carried over the group as reality set in. Their father had made up his mind, Tenjinsai was leaving, and that was that.

Accepting the fate that their brother had been subjected to, there was a brief and teary goodbye, mostly from his sister Amaya. Tsunkai simply gave him a small sack of coin that their Uncle had prepared for him prior to the meeting knowing what Tenkai was going to demand of his son. With their goodbyes said, Tenjinsai walked away, perhaps for a little while, or perhaps forever. Nobody knew to be honest, and it destroyed a small piece of each of them inside. The last words spoken to him were from his sister, one that he knew he could never truly act upon, but at least they could give him some form of comfort. "You will always have family here Tenjinsai, no matter what father says. Be safe and stay strong..."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That day was many decades ago, one that he had never forgotten and had driven him his entire life. It had, in part, made him the man that he was today. Now it was time for him to capitalize upon the curse that he had been given. He would visit the place he had not been to in over one hundred years. He was going to go back home and confront his father.

Re: A new start

Post by Tenjinsai Bushinji on Sun Jun 18, 2017 7:34 pm

His mind was made up, he knew what he had to do. It was clear that his brother was going to oppose his plan adamantly, perhaps even get in the way, but he knew it would work. At least, he had a strong thought process that dictated to him that it would work. There was no real way that he could guarantee the success of his plan though. The entire concept itself was reliant upon his fathers feelings and how well Tenjinsai could manipulate them. The thought of it was not particularly morally sound, nor appealing to him, but it was worth crossing some personal lines to get this done. Tenjinsai turned back to face his brother and put his hand on his shoulder. "Brother, I need to head back to the estate. I am determined to do this, please do not get in my way. If you really look at it as well, it is beneficial for so many more people then is even evident."

Tsunkai looked at him quizzically, an eyebrow raised as he waited for an explanation. "Think of it like this brother, I am going to be going to the World of the Living, correct?" His brother crossed his arms over his chest and nodded lightly a few times to confirm what Tenjinsai had said. "Well, if that is the case, then I will be able to exterminate hollows while I am there as well." Tenjinsai heard a rather loud sigh rip from his brothers mouth at the last sentence he had spoken. "That is precisely why I am against it. With things being the way they are there is no telling how dangerous the World of the Living has become. It is reckless to go there on your own." Tenjinsai turned and walked slightly away from his brother, his gaze turning to his friend who was still sparring at the moment. After a few moments, he turned his head slightly to his right, a single eye peering at Tsunkai with a slight smirk on his face as well. "Who said I would be going alone?"

In only a matter of moments his brothers head found its way down into his hand as they unfolded from across his chest. He shook his head lightly before looking back at Tenjinsai. "You really think that father will let not only you, but Mikoto to go to the World of the Living as well. You are absolutely delusional if you think this will work Tenjinsai." He chuckled slightly at Tsunkai's words, and turned completely towards him moving slightly closer. His arms moved out to his sides and his hands found their way to his hips. "I have a great deal of confidence that my plan will succeed. Providing you do not try to disuade father from doing so." Tenjinsai turned to his left again, his arms moving from his hips and finding their way to his chest. His right arm propped up on his left and his chin propped into his right hand. What his brother would say next though, would blow a hole right through his plan and actually make him slightly anxious.

"Even if I cannot convince father otherwise, do you truly think that Uncle Hayashi will agree to it as well?" Tenjinsai's eyes went as wide as they could without popping out of his skull. He had not even factored in his uncle arguing against his plan. It could be a massive speed bump for his plan, if not a brick wall that he would not be able to get past. It would truly be an impossible feat to argue the point if Hayashi was against his plan as well. Though his father was in charge of the clan, he relied a great deal upon Hayashi when making decisions of any import. While he was no longer an active member of the Gotei Thirteen, he still occupied the position of an advisor to the clan and had his hands in all affairs that they were involved in. This would of course include his father giving him permission to use the senkaimon to travel to the World of the Living.

If they would not give Tsunkai permission to use it, a full fledged shinigami who was capable of utilizing his Bankai release, what chance did he have of convincing his uncle to allow him passage. Perhaps though he could pit his father's obstinate nature against Hayashi to get his way. It would be a difficult task to accomplish, but it was not one that was impossible. This was all of course providing that his uncle would actually argue against it and even be present when the conversation was occuring. There were a great deal of factors to consider, and more that continued to pop up as he thought about it. Tenjinsai gritted his teeth lightly as he mulled over these thoughts, a light growl coming from his throat. His attention turned back to his brother as his growl prompted some words from him. "It seems you have realized that this task may be more difficult then you have initially expected."

Tsunkai moved closer to his brother and placed his hand lightly on his shoulder. He squeezed lightly with his hand, hoping to drill his point into Tenjinsai's head despite the younger brother being set on this plan. "There are too many people that will be against this foolhardy plan. You may be able to convince father if you argue the point enough. However, convincing Uncle Hayashi, myself, and even Amaya will be too much for you to accomplish." Tenjinsai clenched his fists and turned away from his brother. He was angry at Tsunkai's words but he knew that they were true. Trying to convince everyone would be nearly impossible and even if he did manage it, his chances of persuading his father would be significantly lower. It just put a huge damper on his plans, but still, he had to at the very least try. If he did not make an effort then he would never know what the outcome would actually be.

"You may be right that the odds are stacked up against me but I still have to try. This is something I am set to do brother, and I plan on following through. Whether you will be there to support me or argue against me, I will still attempt it." Turning away from his brother Tenjinsai made his way over to where Mikoto was having his spar. He seemed to be in the heat of it with the shinigami he was fighting so he did not particularly want to intervene. Instead, Tenjinsai just thought it smart to leave him with a message and meet up with him later at the estate. He would wait there until he arrived regardless of the outcome of his plan. They were either going to travel together to the World of the Living, or to another district in the Rukongai to continue their works. "Mikoto, I am going to be heading to my family's estate to speak with my father."

Tenjinsai began to walk away into the darkness of the forest, making his way towards the Seireitei where the estate was housed. "Meet me there when you are finished up here and we can figure out what our next step will be." With that, Tenjinsai vanished into the darkness, disappearing into the thick growth of the forest, his reiatsu becoming more and more faint as he wandered away. He was sure though that he would be seeing his brother again soon, as well as Mikoto as long as he could follow directions.

Re: A new start

Post by Mikoto Kurokei on Thu Jun 22, 2017 8:02 pm

Some time passed neither of them making a move both wondering what each other had in store for the attacker. Though it was hard to keep focus tenjinsai's spar was making it difficult. Mikoto couldnt help a few times looking over to see how his friend was doing Takuji clearly noticed but luckily didn't strike during those times. From what Mikoto saw Tenjinsai was holding his own which was not to surprising though it seemed takuji took his chance while Mikoto was half paying attention and jabbed at him. With no time to ract Mikoto was hit in the gut winding him for a few moments Takuji looked at him with a small grin "You should pay attention to your fight you leave yourself wide open, though if you must check on your friend be quick and act fast or you will be left open for a attack".

Mikoto did not reply he knew he was right he got distracted to easily in a real fight such actions could get him seriously heart or killed he needed to take a moment and focus. After catching his breath Mikoto stopped and tried to focus on his spar and nothing else. He breathed in and out slowly he relaxed for a moment and then he went for a strike. Takuji dodged his attack but Mikoto quickly went for a quick jab at him catching him off guard and landing a hit. While not the strongest of blows, it was a enough to make Takuji step back a bit. "That was a good hit. As I told you, focusing allows you to do much better when you're not worrying or looking at something else" Mikoto took a deep breath "Yes, I know but in there lies a flaw in your plan. Knowing that I am focusing on you alone will not give you an easy time attempting to beat me as you may have originally planned".

His words intriuged Takuji "Hmmm really and what makes you think that? Who's to say I haven't been going easy on you. Perhaps it's time to step up my game" Mikoto took another jab at takuji while he was off guard and landed another hit "Ha and here you told me to focus and here you are letting your guard down" Takuji smiled "You are right, but I promise you that was your last lucky hit Mikoto". Takuji then drew his zanpaktou and took a proper fighting stance. This was a bit worrying to Mikoto he might have should a chance against him in hand to hand combat but sword play wasn't his strong suit that area was Tenjinsai's specialty. Though mikoto wasn't going get time to complain about it as Takuji attacked. Mikoto had to quickly draw his sword and was just barely able to defend against the attck. The attack was stronger then he thought and his arms became very sore just from blocking it.

"You're much stronger then you let on I guess. You seem able to counter my current abilities." smilling Takuji replied "Perhaps, but regardless I doubt you will win this fight. I am starting to have my doubts you have any surprises left for me, so far it seems you only know one kido and nothing more. While impressive to a degree, it's not going to help you now". Mikoto knew Takuji was right, Jugeki Byakuri was his only real trump card he was starting to get frustrated which was clear to everyone around at that moment he remembered something. 'Wait' he thought Tenjinsai's uncle had showed him more then just one kido. He needed to think back, remember what he had learned. 'Which one' he began to think, then it came to him. 'Shitotsu Sansen of course, now I just have to remember the incantation.' Mikoto began to go through his memories on how Hayashi showed him how it worked though during this time Takuji attacked again this time Mikoto was able to get out of the way.

Takuji looked at him a puzzled "Here I thought you had all your focus on me now you seem like you focusing on something else, must be something important to get your mind off the spar care to share?" Mikoto did not reply instead he attacked takuji blocked "I guess you don't want to share oh well guess it's not that improtant anyway". Mikoto looked at him with a reply "That's what you think, Bakudo number thirty, Shitotsu Sansen" Mikoto formed a triangle with his finger as three beams of light shot form it and pinned Takuji to a near by tree. Takuji struggling to get free looked at Mikoto "Well again you surprise me. I am starting to wonder how many kido you actually know." Taking advantage of the situation, Mikoto follwed up with an another attack, sealing his victory. "Hadou number nineteen, Jugeki Byakurai". Takuji gave a concerned look he knew he couldnt get free from mikoto shitotsu sansen before his Byakurai hit.

It was in that moment that Tenjinsai's brother, Tsunkai, stepped in and deflected the kido. A sigh of relief came rippling out of Takuji shortly after."Thank you sir, that could have ended badly". Tsunkai looked sternly to Mikoto afterwards. "Treating a spar like a real fight is one thing but this has gone a bit to far, Mikoto you need to show some restraint. If that had proceeded further you could have seriously injured someone, maybe even killed them" Mikoto quickly apologized "Apologies Tsunkai, I didn't mean to go that far." Tsunkai replied, his face and demeanor relaxing. "It's alright, everyone gets in a little over their head in the heat of battle. However, I recognized that kido that you used in the spar. My uncle taught that to you to didn't he?" Mikoto simply nodded in a quick response, confirming the suspicions of his now superior.

"Impressive, now I am also sure you didn't notice, but Tenjinsai finished his spar already and is heading to the estate. He wants you to meet him there. Since I  have now been roped into this I am going there anyway, would you like to come with us?" Mikoto replied with "Yes i would from what i have been told its dangerous to walk there alone these days" With that the group headed to the Bushinji estate to meet Tenjinsai there.
