Everything revolves around elements and each element has it's strengths and weaknesses with the exception of Nature chakra from Naruto which is neither strong nor weak. If something is weak it gets a bonus, but if something is weak against something it loses out against it's opposing elements.

Standard single elemental bonus/penalty
If an element is strong against something it'll gain +10 into the respective stat the attack is(Strength or energy.) if something is weak it'll lose 10 points in the respective attack stat.

For example if a fire user and a water user attacked each other with their elements. The water user would gain ten points into their attack while the fire user would lose ten. Making a total of a 20 point difference in the original point of the attacks. So in terms of stats it would look something like this-

Water user with 100 Energy would become 110 energy and the fire user with 100 energy would be 90 energy during the attack.

For dual based elements it would take entirely different effects and any elements it is strong against would only be half the amount and same would be said for the penalty. (I.E Instead of 10 points gain/loss it's 5 points gain/loss) It'll gain the +10 bonus and an opponent would get the 10 penalty if using both opposition elements.

For elements strong against each other it'll depend on the attacker. The attacker will gain the bonuses while the defender would get the penalties.

For example is a Dark element user attacked a light element user the dark user would gain the +10 while the light user who is defending would lose the ten points.

Yin and Yang are special elements based in the Naruto universe and are placed behind a randomizer roll via Indra or Asura. Yin and Yang have a bonus to all elements at the rate of half the dual rate so the ratio affected is +2.5 for the Ying/Yang user and -2.5 for any other element other than Yin or Yang. If Yin or Yang are opposing each other that standard element rule takes into effect. The attacker gaining +10 while the defender losing 10.

If by some miracle you manage to roll both Indra and Asura you'll gain both Yin and Yang respectively giving a boost to your over all bonus making it +5 gain for those lucky enough to roll both and -5 loss for all elements opposing unless it's another person using both Yin and Yang techniques.

As a note incase anyone forgot what > means the one on the left is the counter to the right. Water>Fire basically means water has advantage over fire.
Single Standard:
Water > Fire
Earth > Water
Wind > Lightning
Fire > Wind
Lightning > Earth

Advanced Single:
Dark > Light
Light > Dark

Naruto Exclusive:
Yin(Randomizer Indra) > All .5/Yang at full
Yang(Randomizer Asura) > All .5/Yin at full
Nature- No strengths or weaknesses

Dual Types(I.E Lava, Steam, Wood, Etc would also fall into here.):
Water/Fire > Fire/Wind
Water/Earth > Fire/Water
Water/Wind > Fire/Lightning
Water/Lightning > Fire/Earth
Earth/Wind > Water/Lightning
Earth/Fire > Water/Wind
Earth/Lightning > Water/Earth
Wind/Fire > Lightning/Wind
Wind/Lightning > Lightning/Earth
Fire/Lightning > Wind/Earth

Advanced Dual (Light and Dark can't mix):
Dark/Fire > Light/Wind
Dark/Lightning > Light/Earth
Dark/Earth > Light/Water
Dark/Water > Light/Fire
Dark/Wind > Light/Lightning
Light/Fire > Dark/Wind
Light/Lightning > Dark/Earth
Light/Earth > Dark/Water
Light/Water > Dark/Fire
Light/Wind > Dark/Lightning

Naruto Exclusive:
Yin/Fire > Yang/Wind
Yin/Lightning > Yang/Earth
Yin/Earth > Yang/Water
Yin/Water > Yang/Fire
Yin/Wind > Yang/Lightning
Yang/Fire > Yin/Wind
Yang/Lightning > Yin/Earth
Yang/Earth > Yin/Water
Yang/Water > Yin/Fire
Yang/Wind > Yin/Lightning
Yin/Yang > All

So basically we are taking the basic knowledge but adding a slight advantage/disadvantage in the stats?

Honestly this does not feel like a bad idea. In naruto there is always an advantage or disadvantage. However for Naruto if you mix certain elements you get new ones like:

Water + Wind = Ice
Fire + Earth = Lava

If you can create the jutsu types for those mixtures for Naruto as content then I would say this is a good idea. It adds a possibility to those who would use them and content.
